Activity 6

There’s been a lot to take in the first 5 activities! Before moving on, let’s recap on what’s been covered so far:

·         Global warming is a reality. How far this is due to human activity is subject to debate
·         There is a growing consensus that humans have contributed to global warming through high levels of carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere
·         Carbon dioxide is an important gas which has a number of functions: it is crucial to the processes of respiration and photosynthesis, and as a ‘ Greenhouse gas’, it keeps the surface of the planet warm
·         The carbon cycle ensures that the amount of carbon dioxide in store and the amount released into the atmosphere is kept in balance. High carbon dioxide emissions through human activity over the past 200 years have upset that balance.
·         The Earth’s present climate is the result of many interactions:  of volcanoes, the sun, the tilt of the Earth , the movement of continents, as well as human activity
